Shmai Oshunde is the inheritor and keeper of an African music tradition of divine communion that transcends dogma and division, and regenerates the all in all. The message received from the works of Sly Stone, Bobby McFerrin, and Stevie Wonder were the catalyst to Oshunde’s psychological initiation as a neophyte working towards his “Innervision.” His process of education has taken him from singing in Andre Crouch’s CMC choir, to the study of the blues and jazz traditions at Berklee College of Music, to performing with and writing for Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Now, after his symbolic return to source as a member of the Earth, Wind , and Fire band for the last 16 years, Shmai Oshunde carries on with his new vehicle of vibration: Lion From The Moon.
